Jason Knowles is a morning general assignment reporter for ABC 7, WLS in Chicago. Where he does extensive live work in the field for Chicago's #1 morning show and reports for the mid-day newscast. He is usually covering the biggest story in the Chicagoland area everyday. From breakers, courts, crimes, controversy, politics and major issues - Jason has covered everything you can imagine.

Besides breaking news and the top stories,  Jason has always had a passion for breaking ground and discovering what's next in tech and lifestyle trends - or ways for consumers to cut through the red tape. He has several years of experience in investigative and consumer reporting.

Jason started his career ripping scripts at his college TV news broadcast at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. During college he interned at MTV News.  When he graduated he landed his first job in Hopkinsville, Kentucky as a reporter and an anchor.

After a year in Hopkinsville he went to Toledo, Ohio's ABC owned station as a Photographer and a "One -Man-Band" reporter. After just months of proving himself he became the lead reporter at the Findlay, Ohio Bureau. Two years later, he was promoted to create an Investigative unit at ABC in Toledo.  During his four years as the main Investigative Reporter, Jason exposed political corruption, consumer fraud and government waste. Jason became one of the most recognizable people of all the on air talent in the Toledo market.

In 2004, Jason was promoted again to a Special Segments Producer at ABC's #1 rated Chicago station, WLS.  He contributes, not only with his consumer and investigative experience but also lead the way with technology stories and hot trends.  He reports on texting, blogging, facebook parents, twitter , email overload and blackberry addicts before these topics were mainstream discussion.

ABC 7 Chicago has sent Jason to South Africa to cover the opening of Oprah Winfrey's new school, Super Tuesday with the Hillary Clinton campaign, The Republican National Convention, Election night in Grant Park and the Inauguration of President Barack Obama. Jason continued his on-camera work by submitting dozens of on-camera web reports from some of these major news events to abc7chicago.com. In 2008, he played a reporter with several lines in a Feature Film.

In Febuary of 2009 Jason became the a reporter for ABC 7, Chicago's number one news.
